ESPRESSO CHILI CHICKEN | makes 1 whole chicken | 


  • 1 whole chicken
  • 4 medium potatoes
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 tbsp coffee beans
  • 1 tbsp garam masala
  • 3/4 tbsp cumin powder
  • 4-5 dried red chillies 
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 6 cloves of garlic
  • kosher salt
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lime


  1. make a marinade consisting of: olive oil, yogurt, finely finely ground coffee beans, garam masala, cumin powder, ground dried red chillies, salt, and black pepper
  2. rub your chicken with the marinade (or if you're awesome - you can marinate in a bag and keep it in the fridge overnight) - use a flavor injector if have one
  3. put some potatoes, whole garlic, and onions in the bottom of a pan and place the chicken on top
  4. squeeze some fresh lime juice on top
  5. roast away for about 1 hour at 400F to an internal temp of 180F
