INDIAN COLD YOGURT SOUP (VG, GF, D)

INDIAN COLD YOGURT SOUP | makes 4-6 bowls of soup | 

NGREDIENTS

  • 1 tub (1kg) yogurt (I used european style plain whole milk yogurt)
  • salt to taste
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 3 green chillies
  • 1/2 tsp whole cumin
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds (rai)
  • 1/2-1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 4-6 curry leaves
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried red chili

STEPS

  1. take your yogurt and pour it into a bowl
  2. add water and whisk until the yogurt is the thickness you like (kind of soupy works well)
  3. heat some olive oil in a pan
  4. add the minced garlic and sliced green chillies
  5. add whole jeera and mustard seeds to the mix and cook until the mustard seeds start to pop (be careful, this is very easy to burn)
  6. turn off the heat and add the haldi, chili powder, and curry leaves and let the mixture cool while stirring
  7. pour your mixture onto the yogurt and mix it up
  8. salt to taste
  9. serve cold by itself or over warm rice
